• Please hand over unused ink cartridges, ink
packs, and waste ink to your dealer or service
representative. If you dispose of them by yourself,
comply with requirements of your industrial waste
disposer and local regulations.
• Do not hit ink cartridges or shake them roughly.
This may cause ink to leak from the cartridge.
• Do not attempt to refill ink packs or ink cartridges.
Mimaki is not responsible for any problems
caused by using refilled ink.
• Do not touch and avoid soiling ink cartridge PCB
contacts. This may result in PCB failure.
• Do not disassemble ink cartridges.

Inserting ink cartridges

Gently shake the ink cartridge.

To prevent ink leakage when shaking the cartridge, wear
gloves and firmly cover part A on the top of the cartridge
and part B on the bottom with a paper towel or the like,
and then rock the cartridge gently so that ink flows slowly
from one end to the other.
* White ink: at least 100 times, All other ink: at least 20
times

Hold firmly with a paper towel
and gently shake
• Shaking too roughly may damage the internal
pack, which may result in leaks.
• It may not be possible to agitate the ink well unless
there is enough ink left. Tilt the cartridge until it is
vertical.
• When using white ink:
This message is displayed after the machine has
been on for 24 hours, or when it is turned on ini-
tially.
White ink should be shaken regularly, because
the ink components are more likely to settle. Also
be sure to shake it before printing.

• Ink in other colors should be shaken about once a

Part B (gap on the bottom)
Insert the ink cartridge.

• Insert the ink IC chip with it facing left.
• Colors are indicated as follows on the display:
C: Cyan
M: Magenta
Y: Yellow
K: Black
W: White
• For details on the order of insertion, see P.6-5
[Order for Loading Ink Cartridges].
• Fully push in the eco-case. Otherwise, ink may not
be fed properly.
• Do not touch the metal parts of the ink IC chip.
Static electricity may damage the ink IC chip,
and dirt or damage may make the ink IC chip
unreadable.
