The safety precautions listed below represent warnings of certain dangers of which SAFRAN DATA SYSTEMS is
aware. They must be observed during all phases of operation, service, and repair of this equipment. Failure to
comply with these precautions or with specific warnings elsewhere in this manual violates safety standards of
design, manufacture, and intended use of the equipment.
SAFRAN DATA SYSTEMS assumes no liability for the customer's failure to comply with these requirements. You,
as the user of the product, should follow these warnings and all other safety precautions necessary for the safe
operation of the equipment in your operating environment.
User should read all the safety and operating instructions before operating this apparatus. Retain this handbook
for future reference and adhere to all warnings in the handbook or on the apparatus
Equipment grounding
To minimize shock hazard, the equipment chassis and enclosure must be connected to an
electrical ground.
Always start with plugging the mechanical ground (on the rear panel of the equipment). The
product must be connected to a protective earth ground by a green/yellow cable or by a
grounding strap with a minimum section of 1.0 mm2 / 16AWG.
The mechanical ground cord must always be the last to be disconnected.
The external ground terminal must be equipped with a locking system (Glower nut, locking
washer, etc.). If you are using a ground lug, make sure to secure the grounding connection
against accidental loosening of the conductor.
Electrical Installation standards
WARNING: The system must be connected to an electrical installation complying with the
standards applicable in your country (NFC 15-100 -> France). It must be equipped with
overcurrent, overvoltage and earth fault protections.
WARNING: The system must be plugged to electrical equipment in accordance with
EN60950-1: 2006 2nd edition.
WARNING: An isolator according to EN60947 standard serves as an isolating device. It
must be easily accessible and installed near the power supply.
The socket outlet base must be installed near the equipment and must be easily
accessible.
Power cord protection: Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to
be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention
to cords and plugs, and the point where they exit from the appliance
