Operating concept

Electronic patient data transfer

An electronic patient data transfer allows you to move patient data across the Infinity network from one
device to another using the ICS. A patient data transfer for wired and wireless monitors behaves the same.
For example, you can transfer the data of an M300 at the ICS to most bedside monitors on the Infinity
network. You can also transfer the data from most bedside monitors to an M300 using the ICS. In both
instances, the bedside monitor and the M300 must share the same units of measure for the data transfer
to work. The only exceptions are the SC9000 and Infinity M540 which do not fully support electronic
patient data transfer.
A patient data transfer includes the following data:
– Trend data
– Demographic data
Only patients in standby mode and those patients within assigned monitoring units of the ICS are
candidates for a data transfer.
Transfer messages describe the process or any problems during a transfer. For details on the transfer
messages, refer to the Instructions for use Infinity CentralStation Wide, Software VG4.0 or later.
After a successful patient data transfer, the source monitor discharges the patient automatically.
If the patient data transfer is unsuccessful, the data remain at the source device. In this case, any data
received at the destination device are deleted until a complete data transfer occurs.
Exiting the transfer screen where you initiated the patient data transfer cancels the procedure. The patient
data remain stored at the source device.
