Operating concept
– If the volume control has been enabled in the configuration menu, you can adjust the M300 alarm vol-
ume freely in the ICS BedView for the M300, and on the M300 transmitter.
– If the volume control is disabled in the configuration menu, you will be able to change the alarm volume
in the ICS BedView for the M300, but you will not be allowed to access the alarm volume menu on the
M300 transmitter.
– If the volume control is set to Per patient, enabling the volume in the M300 BedView will work in the
same way as the first item in this list where you can adjust the M300 alarm volume freely in the ICS
BedView for the M300 and on the M300 transmitter.
– Disabling the volume control in the BedView will enable you to change the alarm volume at the ICS
BedView for the M300, but prevent you from accessing the alarm volume menu at the M300 transmit-
ter.
If the M300 stops communicating with the ICS (for example, if a patient walks out of wireless range, or if
an M300 shuts down due to a low battery), the ICS displays an Offline message.
NOTE
If communication is interrupted between the network and the M300, the M300 continues to monitor the
patient and automatically sets its alarm volume to 100%. Any alarms that were active while the M300 was
offline, and all future alarms, will be reported by the M300 when communication is restored with the ICS.
If an alarm condition occurs while the M300 has lost connection to the ICS, the M300 screen does not go
blank, regardless of the Screen shut-off time [min] value set at the ICS.

Minimum alarm volume

The minimum alarm volume (%) is configurable for the M300 while the device is in Monitoring mode, but
not being monitored by the ICS (i.e., offline).
Available volume settings:
10 %
20 %
30 %
40 %
50 % (default)
The available alarm volume settings on the M300 in Monitoring mode is based on the minimum alarm
volume configuration.
NOTE
The configured minimum alarm volume will not be in effect while M300 is in Networked mode (being mon-
itored by an ICS).
