Getting started
4 Enter the patient ID in the Patient ID field on the Demographics page (B).
5 Select the Get data button (L) in the Demographics page. The Get data button appears grayed out
and is not selectable when the HIS is not available. The button is also not selectable when the ICS is
disconnected from the network.

Discharging a patient

Discharging a patient discontinues patient monitoring.

Discharging an M300 patient

M300 patients must be discharged at the ICS where they were originally admitted, or may be discharged
by placing the M300 into the Central Charger.
NOTE
You cannot discharge a M300 patient remotely from another ICS.
The following occurs at the M300 when a patient is discharged:
– All parameter values are deleted.
– Demographic and locally-stored trend data are deleted at the M300.
– The Discharged message appears.
To discharge an M300 patient
1 Select the viewport of the M300 patient you want to discharge.
2 Select the Admit/Standby button from the BedView menu bar to access the Admit/Standby page.
3 Select the Standby/ Discharge tab.
4 Select the Discharge button to enable a confirmation pop-up.
5 Select the Discharge button inside the pop-up to discharge the patient, or select the Undo button to
cancel the discharge.
After discharging the patient, return the M300 to a charger (see "Charging the M300 battery" on page 93).
CAUTION
Failure to discharge previous patient information can result in the mixing of patient archive data at ICS
when admitting a new patient using the ICS or the M300/M300+.
