Changing alarm limits settings

In the following steps, the letters in parentheses refer to the preceding diagram of the Limits page. For
related information, refer to page 134.
WARNING
Setting alarm limits to extreme values may prevent certain alarm conditions from being detected
and from being annunciated with audible and visual alarm signals.
To configure the default alarm settings
1 Select the Limits tab (if not already selected).
2 Select a Patient category (C).
Repeat the following steps for each parameter, as necessary. Use the vertical scroll bar along the right
side of the table to display additional rows at the table bottom.
3 Select the corresponding field in the Alarm column (E) to activate or deactivate alarm monitoring. A
crossed-out triangle appears in the parameter box when alarm monitoring is deactivated.
4 Use the corresponding field controls in the Lower column (F) to adjust the lower alarm limits.
5 Use the corresponding field controls in the Upper column (H) to adjust the upper alarm limits.
6 Select one of the following settings in the Archive column (I) to determine what happens in response
to an alarm:
– Off – no event is stored and no recording is generated
– Record – generates a manual recording
– Store – stores the event for later review
– Store/Rec. – generates a manual recording and stores the event.
7 Select Apply to save any changes, or Undo to revert to the previous settings without saving.
