Preamplifier Area

The preamplifier controls access all preamp related parameters such as the input gain, pad, polarity, trim,
and 48V phantom power for the Selected Channel.
9.4.1

Gain V-Pot

The GAIN V-Pot allows individual channels equipped with mic preamps to control the preamplifier's gain (in
1 dB increments). For Mic/Line inputs 1-48, the gain range is between 15 dB and 70 dB without the pad and
–8 dB and 47 dB with the pad engaged. Pressing Ctrl and turning the V-Pot knob sets the gain to the default
setting of 15 dB.
For stereo inputs, there is 0 dB to 20 dB of available gain. For all other channels, this control has no function.
Pressing Ctrl and turning the V-Pot knob sets the gain to 0 dB.
Note: To disable the pad on ALL channels at once and reset all the channel Gains to the default value of
+15 dB, hold Ctrl and press the GAIN PAD Channel Assign button.
9.4.2
48V Button
The red 48V button turns on the Selected Channel's 48-V phantom powering. Only Mic/Line inputs 1-48
have this function.
Note: To disable phantom powering on ALL channels at once, hold CTRL and press the 48V Channel Assign

button.

9.4.3

The red PAD assign button enables the Selected Channel's 23 dB pad ahead of the mic preamplifier.
Note: To disable the pad on ALL channels at once and reset all the channel Gains to the default value of
+15 dB, hold Ctrl and press the GAIN PAD Channel Assign button.
9.4.4

Polarity Invert

The red INV button inverts the Selected Channel's polarity by 180 degrees.
For stereo channels, the button toggles through No Invert, Left Invert, Right Invert, and Left and Right Invert.
• The button lights if either channel is inverted from the opposite stereo channel
• The button does not light if the polarity setting of the two channels is the same.
Note: To disable polarity invert on ALL channels at once, hold CTRL and press the INV Channel Assign button.
9.4.5

Trim Control

The TRIM V-Pot controls the Selected Channel's ± 15 dB digital gain trim. The digital trim control is located
ahead of all other channel digital signal processing. All inputs have a digital trim control. The V-Pot LEDs
indicate the digital trim setting and the bottom LED lights when the knob has been set at 0 dB.
Note: Holding CTRL and pressing the TRIM Channel Assign button resets the digital trim on all channels to
0 dB.
