Notes:
1.
Individual channels in Linked Pairs cannot be soloed individually when AFL is selected; the console
forces solo for both channels in a Linked Pair when one channel in pair is soloed.
2.
When Input, Stereo, IFX, and unlinked Group Channels are soloed in AFL, they appear in the solo buses
exactly as they appear in the main LRC buses, taking into account both stereo or LCR panning and L/R/C
assignments. The intent is to hear them exactly as they appear in the main mix. If the channel is unas-
signed, they go to AFL solo as if they were assigned to LR in LR+M mode or LR and C in LCR mode.
3.
Individual Master LRC outputs in Linked Outputs cannot be soloed individually; console
forces solo for all linked outputs together.

Center/Mono — This control adjusts the output of the Ctr/Mono monitor out on the rear panel.
Left/Right — This control adjusts the output of the L-R monitor out on the rear panel.
Phones — This control adjusts the level of the two headphone jacks located in the armrest of
the mixer.

Communication

This section includes the External Input controls and the Talkback controls.
6.4.1

External Input

When the UMX.96 is used as a monitor board, the external input lets the FOH console
communicate with the monitor board via an analog connection. The EXT TALK IN in-
put on the rear panel is a line-level input with its own routing system, configured in the
Utility>Talkback screen (see Section 12.9.1). Connect the FOH console's line-level talkback
output signal to this input. Likewise, there is a line-level output for
this console's talkback mic to be sent to the FOH console's External
Talkback Input. The External Input knob controls the level of the Ex-
ternal Talk Input signal into the console. The External Input signal can
be sent to any of the four Assign destinations by pressing the buttons
labeled MATRIX, LR+C, AUX, and GROUP.
