EAW UMX.96 Owner's Manual
The snapshot Preview & Update screen is nearly identical to the snapshot Filtering screen. The parameter
selection section (top right) and channel selection section (bottom) is identical to that described for filtering.
• The snapshot list displayed in the top left of the snapshot Preview & Update screen, allows marking one
or more snapshots to be updated at once via check boxes next to each snapshot.
• The ALL and NONE buttons allow quick selection of all or none of the snapshots for updating.
• In addition to the check boxes, one snapshot, highlighted in yellow, indicates it will be affected by the
preview function as described below. This selected snapshot is independent of the selected snapshot in
the overview screen. This allows previewing an upcoming snapshot.
To update a snapshot, mark any number of snapshots to update by checking them in the list.
Note: Like snapshot filtering, the marked and selected snapshot(s) in this list are independent of the active
snapshot in the snapshot overview screen and console surface.
• Select the parameters to be updated; by default all channels are selected but no parameters are selected
so you must consciously choose which parts of the snapshot to update.
• Clicking "Update" prompts for confirmation. Clicking OK updates the selected snapshots for the selected
channels and parameters with the console's current settings for those channels and parameters.
For example, this is useful if you want to update an EQ across many existing snapshots.
The SNAP PREVIEW button allows recalling the selected snapshot to the console surface and to on-screen
controls without actually recalling it into the DSP.
Note: This temporarily removes control of all console functionality except the Snapshot controls as de-
scribed below; no controls will actually affect the audio passing through the console while in preview mode.
Because of this, the onscreen display displays a bright red flashing SNAP PREVIEW button at the bottom
right on the screen.
You can now see and make changes to the previewed snapshot.
• When completed, decide if you want to save any changes made during preview to one or more snap-
shots, or if you simply want to return to normal operation without saving any changes.
• Pressing the flashing on-screen SNAP PREVIEW button cancels all changes returning immediately to nor-
mal operation.
To update one or more snapshots with changes you've already made, navigate back to the snapshot Pre-
view & Update tab. From there, you can update multiple snapshots, or only certain parameters/channels in
one or more snapshots via the update controls. Since the console remains in Preview mode, you can perform
multiple updates with the previewed changes. The result is a very powerful preview, change and update
system.
When you're finished updating, press the flashing red SNAP PREVIEW button to leave preview mode and
return to normal operation.
You can change the snapshot under preview by simply navigating back to the Preview & Update tab, and
choosing a new snapshot from the list. During preview, the console snapshot buttons are still live and so is
the overview screen which does operate on the DSP and will affect the audio.
