Aux Pan Button

The AUX PAN Channel Assign button controls the panning for any stereo linked aux
sends. It is not applicable to linked groups as linked groups use the channel pan control.
After selecting either of the two linked auxes in the Channel Assign section, pressing
the AUX PAN Channel Assign button causes the V-Pot to display the aux pan setting for
the stereo auxes on each channel. The two aux buttons remain lit and the AUX PAN but-
ton lights as well.
Pressing another stereo linked pair of auxes causes the V-Pots to display their channel Aux
Pan settings. But pressing an Aux/Group button that is not linked, or a stereo linked group,
causes the V-Pot to display no information, to show no lit LEDs, and to have no control.
Selecting another V-Pot parameter switches to that parameter, leaves the Aux Pan
mode, and turns the AUX PAN button LED off.
When adjusting AUX PAN, the V-Pot adjusts the aux pan while pressing the ASSIGN
button has no function. The scribble strip displays the channel name on the top line
until the V-Pot is rotated; then it briefly displays the pan setting numerical value. The
bottom line of the scribble strip displays the word auxpan.
Holding CTRL and pressing the AUX PAN Channel Assign button (or turning the V-Pot)
resets the selected stereo aux send panning to center.
Note: The Aux Pan for a stereo linked pair of aux sends is totally independent of the
normal channel Pan control.

Aux Mode Button

The AUX MODE button in the Channel Assign section essentially converts the UMX.96
to a monitor mixing console when pressed. It lights purple to indicate this in an obvious
way since it is a fairly drastic change in console operation. Enabling Aux Mode changes
the channel faders on both the upper and lower banks to instead control the aux send
levels from the channels. This preserves the original fader settings. This is purely for ease
of use; changing in and out of aux mode does not affect the console's output in any way
as enabling/disabling Aux Mode does not alter the console's signal path.
In Aux Mode the input channel section faders become the aux send level controls for
the selected aux send in the Channel Assign section. When the console is in Aux Mode,
the buttons L/R, CTR, and any sends designated as groups do nothing and the input
channel faders will return to showing their regular fader values. All output channels
show their output level faders as normal.
In addition to changing the channel faders, Aux Mode changes the operation of the
VCA master faders to allow control of the Aux/Group masters in groups of eight. When
an aux between 1-8 is selected, the selected aux blinks and the rest light solid, indicat-
ing that the VCA control area is being used for the aux master and group master sends
1-8. Pressing aux/group Channel Assign 9-16 changes the master VCA faders to control
that group of aux/group masters. The same is true for 17-24. As it does when control-
ling the VCAs, the scribble strip above the aux/group master faders show the aux or
group name in its display.
Example: The console is in Aux Mode, and Aux Channel Assign button 11 has been
pressed. The fader banks now control the levels for aux send 11. The VCA master faders
are now the masters for auxes 9-16. In the Channel Assign section, Aux buttons 9-16
illuminate blue and button 11 flashes. At the VCA masters, neither of the VCA 1-8 or 9-16
buttons are lit, and the scribble strip above the VCA master faders shows the aux/group
master short name.
