Chapter 5: Control Surface Overview

The control surface of the console includes all of the knobs, faders and buttons that you use to mix
the incoming signals. Functionally, the surface is organized into two sections: the channel section on
the left and the master section on the right.
5.1

The Channel Section

The channel section is arranged with two banks of 24 faders, one above the other. The channels
are organized as three groups of 8 faders each per bank. These groups of 8 faders are referred to as
buckets; the console has two fader banks with three buckets each.
Each channel has a fader, a V-Pot, an alphanumeric scribble strip, metering, and four buttons. See
Chapter 7 for details.

The Master Section

The master section has the following components: meter bridge, SPL display, bank select section,
channel assign section, touchscreen, utility section, VCA control section, LR+C/M masters, snapshot
section, user keys, mute group masters, Touch and Spin, and the Selected Channel control section
(see illustration on the next page).
• The meter bridge can be set to indicate the following signals: analog inputs, stereo inputs/
internal FX returns, system processor outputs, aux/group outputs, and the matrix outputs.
The meter source can be changed at the Utility section of the console or via the touchscreen
(Utility>Meters).
• The SPL display uses the included measurement microphone input signal to measure the SPL at
NYI
the console. The display can be disabled (made blank) from the touchscreen (Utility > SPL Meter).
The maximum SPL shown is 120 dB SPL.
