Aux/Groups 1-24 Overview Tab

The UMX.96 is a shared aux/group console. There are 24 Aux/Group sends; you select which ones are groups
and which ones are auxes on the Aux/Group screen (see Section 12.3 for details). You can have 24 Aux sends,
or 24 Group sends, or any combination of auxes and groups that adds to 24. Auxes and Groups can also be
stereo linked from this screen.
A channel can feed an adjustable level signal to an Aux send pre-DSP, post-DSP (pre-fader), or post-fader. A
group send is always post-fader and there is no send level control; it is always under control of the channel
fader.
Note: An aux send ends at the analog output connector on the rear panel, but a group send can also route
its signal to the left/right/center/mono buses (just after the mute switch in the signal flow, prior to the polar-
ity, 31-band EQ, and output delay). The return to the buses depends on the console's mode setting:
• In LCR mode, the return is via the Pan control and the L/R and Center assign buttons. If only the L/R assign
is enabled, then the pan control operates in 2-channel stereo mode. If both the L/R and Center assigns are
enabled, then the pan control operates in 3-channel LCR mode.
• In LR+M mode, the return to the L/R buses is via the Pan control and the L/R assign button. The Center as-
sign button gets its signal post-fader but pre-pan.
• Further information can be found in Section 12.10.1.1.
The Aux/Group Overview screen has the following elements:
• Aux/Group Select buttons — Selects Aux or Group mode for the selected Aux/Group send.
• Insert Pre EDIT button — Pre-DSP digital insert point. Touching the EDIT button accesses the Inserts
screen, the same as touching the Inserts tab. The readout below the button displays the name of the
selected insert device.
• HPF IN button — Engages the channel's high-pass filter. Set the HPF frequency with Touch and Spin and
the slope via the EQ tab.
• LPF IN button — Engages the channel's low-pass filter. Set the LPF frequency with Touch and Spin and
the slope via the EQ tab.
