SEAT BELTS, STRAP, AND SHOULDER HARNESSES
(PILOT AND COPILOT SEATS) (Continued)
To use the restraint system, lengthen each half of the belt as necessary
by pulling the buckle (or connecting link) to the lap with one hand while
pulling outward on the narrow adjuster strap with the other hand. Insert
the left belt link into the left slot of the buckle. Bring the crotch strap
upward and insert the link into the bottom slot in the buckle. Finally,
position each strap of the shoulder harness over the shoulders and
insert their links into the upper slots in the buckle. the seat belts should
be tightened for a snug fit by grasping the free end of each belt and
pulling up and inward.
During flight operations, the inertia reel allows complete freedom of
upper body movement; however, in the event of a sudden deceleration,
the reel will lock automatically to protect the occupant.
Failure to correctly use seat belts and shoulder
harnesses could result in serious or fatal injury in
the event of an accident.
Release of the belts, strap, and shoulder harnesses is accomplished by
simply twisting the front section of the buckle in either direction and
pulling all connecting links free.
