5) Estimating the causes
As the CTL head is clogged, the level of the recording signal drops and becomes still, and in this
state, the tape is played back in the reverse direction, and the playback signal level drops even lower,
causing CTL PLS to generate.
6) Countermeasures
As a real cleaning tape is not used for more than 63 hours at the least, perform cleaning using a
cleaning tape and continue aging.
