How to Perform Measurement
Current Measurement
The measurement range can also be set by using the Measure fields. The ranging
mode (left field) and the range value (right field) are set by pressing an assist key
available when the relative field is in the EDIT status. Where, the softkey label
shows Volts, Amps, Ohms, or Coulomb. For more information, see
Sub-panel" on page 151
Automatic ranging speed
The setting speed can be specified by pressing the System Menu > Config >
Measure > Ranging function keys. The softkey label shows Normal or Fast.
The instrument performs normal range changing when this softkey label shows
Ranging Normal.
The instrument reduces range changing wait time when this softkey label shows
Ranging Fast. This setup is effective for performing high speed measurement
when the measurement result is stable.
Automatic ranging operation
If the measured value is < 9.5 % of the range value, the instrument changes the
range down and performs measurement again. If the measured value is > 105 % of
the range value, the instrument changes the range up and performs measurement
again.
After the mode is changed from AUTO to FIXED
The instrument keeps the last used range. And the RANGE function key shows its
value.

Aperture Time

Aperture time is the observation time required for getting a point of data, and does
not include such factors as range change or data compensation, which would be
overhead time. For accurate and reliable measurements, the aperture time should
be increased.
The following aperture modes are available. The mode can be selected by pressing
the SPEED function key. Where, the softkey label shows the present aperture time
setting.
