To Use the Field Pointer

Use the field pointer to specify an entry field in the setup screen. The field pointer
can take the following status. Change the status as needed during the setup. The
present status can be known by the pointer color and the MOVE/EDIT indicator
shown in
MOVE status
EDIT status

To Change the Setting in the Field

1. If the field pointer is green, press the rotary knob. The pointer status is changed
2. Turn the rotary knob to move the field pointer.
3. Move the pointer on the field to change the setting and press the rotary knob.
4. Change the setting by turning the knob or pressing an assist key or a
Digit Pointer When an alpha/numeric value entry field is in the EDIT status (i.e., all digits in the
field are highlighted in green), pressing the Save, Recall, Coarse Res, or Fine Res
key changes the pointer to the digit pointer, which points only one digit in the

The pointer is highlighted in blue. You can move the pointer
from field to field by turning the rotary knob.
The pointer is highlighted in green. You can change the setting
in the field.

the value or pressing the Cancel/Local key changes the pointer status to
MOVE (blue).
In the EDIT status on an alpha/numeric value entry field such as Voltage
Source and File Name, the digit pointer is available.
Pressing Save, Recall, Coarse Res, or Fine Res key moves the digit pointer.
Turning the rotary knob or pressing Range  or Range  key changes the value.
Changing the value from 9 to 0 or from 0 to 9 changes the value of the upper
digit.
Turning the rotary knob or pressing the Range /Range  key on the decimal
point moves the decimal point if real time update is OFF. For the real time
update, see "Voltage Source Output (B2985B/ B2987B)" on page
28.
