For current measurement and charge measurement, the internal zero correction
function can be used. This function cancels the instrument internal offset only. If
you use the offset cancel function, the internal zero correction is not necessary.
To use the internal zero correction function, press the Null key when the Ammeter
On/Off switch has turned off. Then pressing the Ammeter On/Off switch measures
the instrument internal offset at the current measurement range and turns the
Ammeter On/Off switch on. The value that subtracts the offset from the actual
measurement value is displayed as measurement result. If this function is enabled,
the ZC indicator is turned on (white).
The internal zero correction function is not effective for multiple measurement
ranges but only for the measurement rage when the Null key is pressed. The ZC
indicator is turned on (white) during the measurement at this measurement range.
If the range change occurs during the measurement, the ZC indicator changes to
gray, and the zero correction is not applied.

Voltage Measurement (B2985B/B2987B)

1. Prepare the reference connection for measurement.
2. Press the Run/Stop key to perform repeat measurement.
3. Confirm that the measurement value is stable, and then press the Null key.
To disable this function, press the Null key during Ammeter On, then the NULL
indicator turns off.
Keysight B2980B User's Guide, Edition 1
This function is used to reject the offset created from the measurement
environment. So, connect the measurement cables to the instrument, and then
make the measurement terminals open immediately close to the device under
test (DUT).
Or, you can use this function by using the state where DUT is connected as
reference state.
If the measured value is not stable, adjust the measurement speed (aperture
time) and the measurement filter setting.
The NULL indicator turns on, and the null function is enabled.
