Resistance Measurement

Setup Parameters

This section briefly describes how to set key parameters effective for accurate and
reliable resistance measurement.
Resistance Calculation Mode
Resistance measurement value is calculated by the formula, R=Vs/Im or R=Vm/Im.
Where, Vm is measurement voltage, Im is measurement current, and Vs is output
voltage. The mode can be specified by pressing the function keys System Menu >
Config > Measure > Ohms > V Select Source or V Select Measure.
Source This mode is effective when this softkey label shows "V Select Source." Resistance
value is calculated by the formula, R=Vs/Im.
Measure This mode is effective when this softkey label shows "V Select Measur Resistance
value is calculated by the formula, R=Vm/Im. To use this mode, set the voltage
measurement range (Measure Volts).
V Control Mode
V Control mode (Auto or Manual) declares the resistance measurement setup
parameter. The mode can be specified by pressing the function keys System Menu
> Config > Measure > Ohms > V Control Auto or V Control Manual.
Auto This mode is effective when this softkey label shows "V Control Auto." Set the
resistance range (Measure Ohms). The current measurement range and the output
voltage used for measurement are automatically set as shown in Table 3-3. See
"Measure Ohms" on page 110.
Manual This mode is effective when this softkey label shows "V Control Manual." Set the
current measurement range (Measure Amps), the voltage output range (Spot
Source Range), and the output voltage (Voltage Source) used for measurement.
These setup fields are on the Meter view and in the range setup sub-panel
displayed by pressing the Hide assist key. To set the output voltage, press the
XXX
Source assist key and set the value into the Voltage Source field by using the
rotary knob and/or the assist key. To see these assist keys, you may need to press
the More... 1 of 3 assist key and/or the More... 2 of 3 assist key.
