USB flash drives can also be used if a USB loopback plug is not available. The USB flash drives must
be detected as formatted drives in Windows. The test USB must then be deselected, and the USB flash
drives must be configured as the testing device in the disk properties.

Serial loopback plugs are relatively easy to create. Simply connect several pins on the serial interface
with wires.
