Prerequisite when vaporizers are connected:
– Vaporizer is vertically level and securely
mounted on the plug-in adapter.
– The filling device is closed.
1 Touch the button for the test (Leakage
assistant).

Checking the gas supply

WARNING
Risk due to impermissible gas supply
pressure
Impermissible gas supply pressures may
cause incorrect gas composition.
Check the supply pressures of the central gas
supply and of the gas cylinders before
operation.
WARNING

Using oxygen supplies with less than 100 %
O may cause incorrect gas composition.

2 Follow the instructions on the screen display.
After touching the Start or Leakage assistant
button, a continuous test pressure is generated.
The resulting leakage values are continuously
displayed.
Manually changing the system (e.g., loosening or
readjusting hose connections) may change the
leakage value so the cause of the leak is easier to
locate.
The displayed leakage value may differ from the
leakage value that was determined in the
automatic leakage test or the breathing system
test. The reasons for this are the different
measuring methods and different pneumatic
ranges.
3 Touch the Cancel button to end generation of
test pressure.
4 End the test with OK.
WARNING
Danger when using O
The following effects may occur:
– Differences between the set values and the
actual values of fresh-gas flow and O
concentration in the fresh gas
– Inaccurate measured values for volume,
anesthetic agent consumption, econometer
(optional), and low-flow wizard
– Inaccuracy of the FiO
– Inaccurate volume delivery in volume-
controlled ventilation modes
– Accumulation of argon in low-flow
operation and minimal-flow operation
