Using the Integrated Remote Disable Input

There
are two
remote disable inputs available
to
the installer in the inve1ter. The
inputs are
located
on the communications
interface PCB
which
is located in the data
monitoring
compa1tment.
The remote
disable
inputs consist
of two
pairs
of screw tenninals
to
which a
user
can
connect separate
remote switches or
contacts.
Using
the
remote
disable
input
allows
the
inve1
ter to
be
shut down remotely by opening a
switch or set of
contacts.
This
feanire
would typically be
used in
conjunction
with a fire
alann
panel
or a
generator
output signal.
The
contacts
need to
be
n01mally closed for the
inve1 ter
to
operate.
The
customer
will
need to provide a
5
V,
5
mA
tolerant
relay, switch,
or set of
contacts.

Important
Jumpers
are installed across
each of
the te1minal pairs to allow n01mal
operation.
Do not remove
either
of
the
jumpers
unless
you
intend to
use this
fearure.
Important
Closing the remote disable contact with the inve1ter ON/OFF
switch
in the ON
position
will
re-strut the
inve1 ter.
MAKING THE REMOTE DISABLE CONNECTION

need the following patts and/or
tools
to make the remote disable
connection:
Control
wire,
22 A
WG
through 14 A WG
(maximum
length
of
1000')
Wire
stripper
Small
screwdriver
Important
Thin
stranded wire
is recommended.
The Remote Disable and Other
On-Site
Power Sources
The
following
inf01mation describes how to make the
remote
disable connection
on
the AE
75TX/AE
l
OOTX
inve1
ter. The remote disable circuit requires
a
n01mally-
closed contact capable of switching a
5
V,
5
mA
signal.
One
or two
remote disable
connections
can be made to the unit.
Important
The AE
7 STX/
AE
1
OOTX inve1ter
cannot operate with
this remote disable
open.
If the remote disable feanire
is
not
used,
the remote disable
te1
minal
block jumpers must be left in
place
for
the inve1ter to operate.
You
ru·e
required to
establish
this external remote
disable connection
if an
additional
power
source exists
at
your
installation
site
that
could
be
datnaged
if the PV
system
continues to
1
un
when
the
power
source
nuns
on.
For
example,
if
you
have an on-site
generator that supplies power
when
an
electrical
outage
occurs,
you should
