Servicing task
→ If necessary, clean insulation profile or repair the site of damage
→ Clean the insulation profile with a vacuum cleaner or brush or replace
→ Clean or replace components, if it is not possible to fully restore the insulating proper-
Functional test:
→ Check for the presence of springs
→ Check the correct installation position of the current collector (see chapter 6.3.4)
→ Change the fastening position in the event of deviation
→ Attach a suitable spring balance to the current collector arm as close as possible to
→ Reading the measured value: Check the value measured by the spring balance when
→ If necessary, clean or replace entire current collector
→ If necessary, correct the mounting position
→ If necessary, clean insulation profile or repair defect

Check the insulation for wear, dirt and burn marks
Make sure that there are no constrictions inside the individual poles of the insulation
profile (dust or adhering dirt).
Make sure that the insulation is not affected by foreign bodies (shavings, fluids, con-
tamination, etc.; risk of short circuit).
ties.
The required contact force is ensured by the correct fastening position of the current
collector
However, if measurement of the contact force is required, the following steps must be
followed:
the middle joint of the two current collector heads. Pull the current collector head verti-
cally away from the power rail using the spring balance.
the collector brush lifts off the sliding surface! The contact force has to be 9 ± 0.5 N.
Check the freedom of motion of each individual current-collector arm
Check the vertical and lateral tolerance of the current collectors relative to the con-
ductor-rail
Ensure that the connecting cable is not twisted at the current-collecting head and that
the cable loop is not exerting directional forces on the current-collecting head. This
must apply in every position of the current-collecting arm
