10.1 Fault remedy table

Fault
The collector brushes are
unevenly worn.
The carbon insulation on the
side has been worn away
down to the collector brush.
The collector brushes are
wearing too fast.
The power supply gets inter-
rupted, the contact is dis-
rupted.

Cause
The current collector heads' range of movement is restricted.
Contact pressure is too high or low.
If installed horizontally: The current collector's height is not
correctly adjusted.
Sharp edges on the power terminal, conductor-rails, con-
nections between the conductor-rails
Conductor-rails dirty or scorched in places.
Contact pressure too high.
End segment and power terminal are not properly con-
nected.
Current collector not properly connected.
Contact pressure too low.

Corrective measures
Only use original Conductix-
Wampfler
current-collecting
heads, check cable position (make
sure cables can move freely).
Install current collector as speci-
fied in chapter 6.3.4. Check the in-
stallation position at various points
in the system.
Install current collector as speci-
fied in chapter 6.3.4; use super-
fine-stranded class-6 connecting
cables (in accordance with ICE
602228).
Replace current collector heads;
correctly adjust the height of the
current collector.
Smoothen sharp edges with a file,
compressed-air grinder or sanding
paper.
Check current values; clean rails
as specified in maintenance in-
struction WV0800-0001; if neces-
sary, replace conductor-rails.
Install current collector as speci-
fied in chapter 6.3.4. Check the in-
stallation position at various points
in the system.
Tighten all screws to the specified
torque, see 6.3.2.1; If necessary,
recrimp and reinstall the crimping
cable lug.
Install current collector as speci-
fied in chapter 6.3.4; correct con-
necting cable, replace if necessary
Only use original Conductix-
Wampfler
current
collectors,
check cable position (make sure
cables can move freely). Install
current collector as specified in
chapter 6.3.4; correct connecting
