Function keys
A total of eight function keys are located on the front
panel of the M540 (4 on the right and 4 on the left
side).
The function keys in positions 2, 3, 4 and 7 are per-
manently assigned to the functions Review, Menu
(Main), View 1, and Alarms.
The function keys in positions 1, 5, 6 and 8 carry
default assignments, but they can be repro-
grammed (see page 44). The current function key
assignments (key names) are displayed next to the
function keys.
The following diagram shows where the function
keys are located on the M540.

Opens the Main dialog win-

dialog and returns you to the
monitoring view.
Scrolls through five pre-con-
figured screen layouts (see
page 50).
Invokes the Code function at
the Cockpit when the M540 is
docked in an IACS configura-

Discharges the patient (see
page 80).
Opens the Alarm settings di-
alog window.
Records an event which can
be viewed in the Event recall

start/stop a timed recording.
