Function keys

A total of eight function keys are located on the front
panel of the M540 (4 on the right and 4 on the left
side).
The function keys in positions 2, 3, 4 and 7 are per-
manently assigned to the functions Review, Menu
(Main), View 1, and Alarms.
The function keys in positions 1, 5, 6 and 8 carry
default assignments, but they can be repro-
grammed (see page 44). The current function key
assignments (key names) are displayed next to the

function keys.

The following diagram shows where the function
keys are located on the M540.

Default function key assignments

1 Standby Places the M540 into standby
(default) mode (see page 66). When
the M540 is docked in an IACS
configuration, pressing this
function key also places the
Cockpit in standby mode.

Operating concept
Function
Opens the Main dialog win-
dow. It also closes any open
dialog and returns you to the
monitoring view.
Scrolls through five pre-con-
figured screen layouts (see
page 50).
Invokes the Code function at
the Cockpit when the M540 is
docked in an IACS configura-
tion. For more information, re-
fer to the instructions for use
Infinity Acute Care System –
Monitoring Applications.
Discharges the patient (see
page 80).
Opens the Alarm settings di-
alog window.
Records an event which can
be viewed in the Event recall
dialog window (see
page 102).
When the M540 is docked in
an IACS configuration, press-
ing the Record function key
notifies the Cockpit to
start/stop a timed recording.
Press and hold the function
key for two seconds to start a
continuous recording.
