Function description
With ePS variables, values created by the user in ePS Network Services config-
ured logic can be processed. These values are defined as ePS variables to enable
them to be addressed throughout the ePS Network Services logic.
An ePS variable is the "stop watch". Using the stop watch, a time can be deter-
mined, at which any signal can be started and any signal can be stopped. The
same signal can be used for both the start and the stop. The stopped time deter-
mined is recorded as time series (variable monitor) and can be automatically
checked with limit values. A variable monitor must be set up for this. Any variable
can be used for the start and stop signals. If PLC variables are used in the S7 syn-
tax (not OPC), then the determined time is precisely in the cycle to just millisec-
onds. The maximum repeat frequency for a subsequent stop should lie in the
higher double-digit seconds range.
