3.1.2 Configuring variable monitors

Overview
You configure a variable monitor in the following steps:
1. Select the variable monitor or create a new variable monitor.
2. Name the variable monitor; comments and icons can be added as an option.
3. Define the addressable variables (NC, PLC, ePS, generic variables such as
OPC, SIMOTION, SINAMICS, etc.) in ePS Network Services.
4. Use a control monitor to execute the variable monitor.
Selecting or creating variable monitors
Since it is possible for each machine to have several variable monitors, there is the
option of sorting them in the overview display either by their names or by the two
classification fields. In addition, it is possible to filter them by searching for specific
parts of text that appear in the Name and Variable columns using the "Search text"
box.

These variable monitors are available automatically if the machine status identifica-
tion is activated in the management for the machines. As in all the other diagnos-
tics actions of the control monitors, they can be activated for recording.
