4 Organizational tasks
4.1 Maintenance
Function description
The maintenance jobs describe the maintenance and servicing tasks to be per-
formed on the machine. Maintenance jobs are always found in a maintenance
schedule stored in the system.
The maintenance schedule contains the work instructions required for the proce-
dures, in the form of text that has been entered directly, an attached file, or a refer-
ence to the maintenance manual and, if necessary, with functions that can be exe-
cuted directly via the system (such as axis tests).
The maintenance job is created via a control monitor through which the mainte-
nance job is initiated.
See also Section: Setting up functions
Maintenance jobs may involve either activities (such as performing axis tests with
the ePS system) or standard service and maintenance procedures on machines.
The user can view maintenance jobs via the control on the machine and can
also acknowledge them here ("Machine operator at machine" application case),
i.e. mark a job as "done" by means of "OK" or "Not OK", and has the option of
adding a comment.
The user can view maintenance jobs on the ePS Network Services Internet PC
and can edit them individually. For instance, the work instruction or the date
can be edited individually for each job.
A change to the maintenance job itself does not change the underlying mainte-
nance schedule!
This option is not available on the control operator panel.
Note
A user logged onto the machine at ePS Network Services can acknowledge the
jobs that are pending here (change status and comment).
Jobs contain the target organization: This specifies which organization is respon-
sible for processing the job. Jobs for a machine can be viewed, changed and
deleted by any organization that has access to this machine.
The contents of maintenance jobs that have already been opened can no longer
be changed. Only the comment associated with the maintenance procedure can
be edited.
Maintenance jobs that have been closed can only be viewed. They cannot be
changed.
