Suggested partial proof-test with AMS Device Manager and
handheld communicator
The suggested proof-test described below will detect 55% of possible DU failures in the
Rosemount 5300 Level Transmitters.
Procedure
1. Bypass the safety function and take appropriate action to avoid a false trip.
2. Disable write protection in device (if enabled).
3. Using Loop Test, enter current value (mA) representing high alarm current. Verify

6. Remove the bypass and otherwise restore normal operation.

a) Select Configure → Manual Setup → Device Setup → Security.
