Using a knife, scrape the old adhesive smooth to a
t h i c k n e s s o f a b o u t 2 m m ( 0 . 0 8 i n ) o n t h e b o n d i n g
s u r f a c e a r o u n d t h e e n t i r e r e a r w i n d o w o p e n i n g
flange.
NOTE:
. Do not scrape down to the painted surface of the
body; damaged paint will interfere with proper
b o n d i n g .

Remove the rubber dams, spacers and fasteners
from the hatch.
. Mask off surrounding surfaces before applying
primer.
C l e a n t h e h a t c h b o n d i n g s u r f a c e w i t h a s p o n g e
d a m p e n e d i n a l c o h o l .
N O T E : A f t e r c l e a n i n g , k e e p o i l , g r e a s e o r w a t e r
from getting on the surface.
l f t h e o l d r e a r w i n d o w i s t o b e r e i n s t a l l e d , u s e a
putty knife to scrape off all traces of old adhesive,
t h e n c l e a n t h e r e a r w i n d o w s u r f a c e w i t h a l c o h o l
where new adhesive is to be applied.
NOTE: Make sure the bonding surface is kept free of
water, oil and grease.
CAUTION: Avoid setting the rear window on its
edges; the molding can be psrmanently deformed.
NOTEr Clean the shadowed area.
REAR WINOOW
4.
Glue the rubber dams to the inside tace of the rear
window, as shown, to contain the adhesive during
installation, and glue the fasteners, spacer and seals
as shown.
NOTE:
. Glue the rubber dams using the printed dots as a
g u l d e .
. Be careful not to touch the rear window where
a d h e s i v e w i l l b e a p p l i e d .
