Mark the rollers and spider to identify the locations
of rollers on the sDider, then remove the rollers.
Remove the circlip.
Mark the spider and driveshaft to identity the posi-
tion of the spider on the shaft.
Remove the spider using a bearing remover.
Remove the stop ring (except Japan produced).

9. Wrap the splines on the driveshaft with vinyltape to
prevent damage to the boots and dynamic damper.
INBOARD BOOT
Inspect for cracking,
splitting and wear.
BOOT BAND

OYNAMIC DAMPER
Check for damage.
Remove the boot band and inboard boot. Take care
not to damage the boot.
R e m o v e t h e d y n a m i c d a m p e r b a n d a n d d y n a m i c
damper, if equipped. Take care not to damage the
dynamic damper.
Remove the boot bsnds and outboard boot, then
remove the vinyltape.
Inspect the outboard joint for faulty movement and
wear. lf any roughness or excess play is felt, replace
the outboard joint.
OUTBOARD BOOT
Inspect for cracking,
splitting and wear.
OUTBOARD JOINT
