7.3.2 Clutch

Check the following during any inspection:
 Check clutch basket, hub, sintered disk for cracks
 Check spring tongues for wear
 Check housing lugs for wear
 New sintered lining
 Replace at
Installation
 Make sure that the star shapes of the multiple-disk clutch sintered disks are
aligned if possible.
Lightly grease the gear teeth and move the clutch disks back and forth on

the drive shaft until the hub moves smoothly on the shaft, remove excess
grease.
 No grease should get on the clutch linings.
