When connecting two Polycom HDX microphone array host devices, a crossover
cable is required. To build a custom crossover cable for this purpose, you should
use shielded CAT5 or better cable. Each end of the custom cable should have a
shielded RJ-45 plug connector that connects to a Polycom HDX microphone array
host device. The maximum supported cable length is 100 feet.
Due to differing use of the twisted pairs within the cable, the pinout for this custom
CAT5 crossover cable is not the same as the pinout that is used for standard
Ethernet cables. Do not use standard Ethernet cables. Instead, for best cable
performance, refer to the following pinout information to create this custom CAT5
crossover cable.
