CHART 3201. TROUBLESHOOTING (LANDING GEAR) (cont.)
Trouble
Excessive or uneven wear
on main tires.
Strut bottoms on normal
landing or taxiing on rough
ground.
Landing gear doors fail to
completely close.
Red gear unsafe light and
fail to stop when
throttle is closed and gear
has extended. (Gear extended
through the use of the freefall
lever or lack of airspeed.)
Red gear unsafe light and
horn fail to operate when
selector switch is moved to
up position with gear ex-
tended and throttle retarded.
Above condition on ground.
Above condition in the air.
Hydraulic pump shuts off,
but red gear unsafe light
remains on.

Cause
Incorrect operating
pressure.
Wheel out of alignment (toe
in or out).
Lower side brace link out of
adjustment, allowing gear to
slant in or out.
Insufficient air and/or fluid
in strut.
Defective internal parts in
strut.
Landing gear not retracting
completely.
Door retraction mechanism
out of adjustment.
Gear selector handle in up
position.
Warning light and horn
circuit wire broken.
Defective safety (squat)
switch.
Pressure switch open.
Gear not fully retracted.

Remedy
Inflate tire to correct
pressure.
Check wheel alignment.
Check gear adjustment.
Service strut with air and/or
fluid.
Replace defective parts.
Check adjustment of landing
gear.
Check adjustment.
Place handle in down position
tion.
Check wiring.
Replace switch.
Replace switch.
Determine cause and remedy.
