Refrigeration
Broken refrigerant line.
Leak in system.
Compressor shaft seal
leaking.
Clogged screen or screens
in receiver-dehydrator or
expansion valve; plugged
hose or coil.
Electrical
Blower motor sluggish
in operation.
Mechanical
Compressor clutch
slipping.
Obstructed blower
passage.
Insufficient air circulation
over condenser coils; fins
clogged with dirt or bugs.
Evaporator filter clogged.

Remedy
Examine all lines for evidence
of breakage by external stress
or rubbing wear.
Evacuate system, apply static
charge, leak test system, and
repair leak as necessary.
Replace compressor.
Repair as necessary.
Remove blower motor for
service or replacement.
Remove clutch assembly
for service or replacement.
Examine entire passage
for obstruction. Correct
as necessary.
Clean condenser coils.
Clean with cleaning solvent
to remove cigarette tars.
