TRANSMISSION
Type IV, Shaft Drive Transmission
Transmission Disassembly, Cont.
23. Remove front output ring gear. Inspect for broken,
chipped, or worn teeth.
24. Unscrew front drive housing and remove it from
case. Apply electrical tape to threads of housing to
prevent damage.
25. Using a brass hammer or a press, drive the shaft,
bearing, retaining ring, and seal out of the housing
from rear to front.
