EXHAUST SYSTEM INSPECTION

EXHAUST SYSTEM INSPECTION
1. Remove:
• Seat
• Storage compartment bracket (RST90GTZ)
• Fuel tank
• Muffler cover
2. Inspect:
• Exhaust pipe joints
• Muffler
• Exhaust pipe
• Muffler band
• Exhaust pipe bands
• Gasket
• Gaskets
• Gasket
3. Inspect:
• Tightening torque
4. Install:
• All removed parts
TIP
For installation, reverse the removal proce-
dure.

Refer to "SEAT" in CHAPTER 3.
Refer to "FUEL TANK" in CHAPTER 5.
Refer to "EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER"
in CHAPTER 5.
Cracks/damage → Replace.
Exhaust gas leaks → Replace.
Exhaust pipe joint bolt
25 Nm (2.5 m•kgf, 18 ft•lbf)
Muffler bolt :
16 Nm (1.6 m•kgf, 11 ft•lbf)
Exhaust pipe bolt
23 Nm (2.3 m•kgf, 17 ft•lbf)
Muffler band bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m•kgf, 14 ft•lbf)
Exhaust pipe band bolt
18 Nm (1.8 m•kgf, 13 ft•lbf)
