Grip/Thumb Warmer Adjustment Switch - Yamaha RS90GTZ Service Manual

GRIP WARMER AND THUMB WARMER CANNOT BE ADJUSTED.
Check the grip/thumb warmer adjustment switch.
OK NO CONTINUITY
Check the grip warmer system wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM".
OK FAULTY
Correct the connection and/or replace the
speedometer unit and/or ECU.

GRIP/THUMB WARMER ADJUSTMENT SWITCH

When one of the leads (yellow/blue or yellow/white) of the grip/thumb warmer switch is short-cir-
cuited to the ground, the respective indicator (grip warmer or thumb warmer) will come on. In addi-
tion, all of the segments of the grip/thumb warmer level indicator will repeatedly appear one after
the other, and then disappear. If the lead is short-circuited for 120 seconds, the bottom three seg-
ments of the level indicator will stay on, and then, if the switch is not operated, the fuel meter will be
displayed after approximately 5 seconds. Once the fuel meter is displayed, the indicator level (grip
warmer or thumb warmer) cannot be adjusted even if the side of the switch with the short-circuited
lead is operated.

Replace the left handlebar switch.
Properly connect or repair the grip warmer
system wiring.
