19.3.2.5 Step 5: Define Trunk Group for PSTN

The procedure below describes how to configure the E1/T1 Trunk that is connected
between the device (TRUNK module) and the PSTN. This is done by defining a Trunk
Group.
To configure a Trunk Group:
1.
Add a Trunk Group for the E1/T1 interface:
a.
Open the Trunk Group Table page (Configuration tab > VoIP menu > GW and
IP to IP submenu > Trunk Group > Trunk Group).
b.
In the 'From Trunk' and 'To Trunk' fields, select 1 (i.e., Trunk 1).
c.
In the 'Channels' field, enter "1-30" for the number of channels.
d.
In the 'Phone Number' field, enter any phone number for the channels. This is
only a logical phone number (i.e., not used).
e.
In the 'Trunk Group ID' field, enter "1" as the Trunk Group ID.
f.
Click Submit.
2.
Define the Trunk's channel select mode:
a.
Open the Trunk Group Settings page (Configuration tab > VoIP menu > GW
and IP to IP submenu > Trunk Group submenu > Trunk Group Settings).
b.
In the 'Trunk Group ID' field, enter "1".
c.
From the 'Channel Select Mode' drop-down list, select Cyclic Ascending.
d.
From the 'Registration Mode' drop-down list, select Don't Register.
e.
From the 'Serving IP Group ID' drop-down list, select 3. Note that the Trunk
Group traverses the device using IP Group 3 (i.e., the device's Gateway
interface).
f.
Click Submit.
