10.5.7.1 Major Functions [Electrical]

PWBA ESS (Reference)
Controls the entire printer (drawing control and entire printer operation control).
- Processes (drawing, etc.) data received from the host and controls the steps executed to printing.
- Sends the commands required to run the mechanism to the PWBA MCU.
- Indicates the device state with LED lamps at occurrence of a fault.
- Processes data sent from an option.
PWBA MCU
Controls the scanning unit, electronic photo process unit, fusing unit, LD unit, and optional mechanism
according to commands sent from the controller.
LVPS
Converts AC voltage received from an outlet to DC voltage and supplies it to the PWBA MCU.
HVPS
Generates high voltage required for electronic photo printing. The POWER SUPPLY H is turned on
and off by signals sent from the PWBA MCU.
FAN ASSY/FAN
Exhausts to the outside of the device to prevent the internal temperature from being risen extremely.
PWBA SENSOR
Controls the CLUTCH REGI ROLL and detects the INTERLOCK SWITCH and paper edge sensor.
INTERLOCK SWITCH
Turned off when the COVER TOP and COVER ASSY FRONT are opened. This is a safety switch that
shuts out the 24V DC low voltage (excluding the FAN power) to be supplied from the LVPS to the
PWBA MCU.
When the COVER TOP and COVER ASSY FRONT are closed, the INTERLOCK SWITCH is turned
on, and power supply restarts.
