LUBRICATION
Install the
0
il pu mp d riven sprocket w ith the washer
and bo lt .
Install the follow ing parts :
oil stra iner .
o il pan.
clutch assembly.
exhaust system .
under cowl.
Fill the eng ine w ith the recommended o il (page
2· 1).
(1) OIL PUMP DRIVEN SPROCKET
OIL COOLER
REMOVAL
Remove the fairing and headlights with the bracket

Dra in the eng ine o il (page 2·3).
Disconnect the oil hoses from the cooler by remov­
ing the four bolts .
Remove the two mount nuts and the o il cooler.
INSPECTION
Inspect the oil cooler soldered jo ints and seams for
leaks.
Check the air passages for clogg ing or damage.
Stra ighten bent fins and collapsed core tubes.
Remove insects, mud or any obstruction with com­
pressed air or low water pressure.
INSTALLATION
Insta ll the o il cooler onto the lower mounts and
mount studs properly and secure w ith the mount
nuts .
Connect the o il hoses to the cooler and tighten the
bolts .
TORQUE: 10-15 N·m
(1.0-1.5 kg-m, 7-11 ft-Ibl
Ins ta ll the headlight with the bracket, and the fair­
ing.
Fill the crankcase with the recommended oil (page
2·1).
Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
