12. Attach the rear hold-down brackets to the rail and slide the brackets into the slots on the EBM rear panel
(see Figure 26).

13. Verify that the brackets are seated firmly, then tighten the wing nuts on the rear hold-down brackets. The
EBM is now secured in the rack.
14. Continue to the "EBM Installation" section.

EBM Installation

A small amount of arcing may occur when connecting an EBM to the UPS. This is normal and will
not harm personnel. Insert the EBM cable quickly and firmly into the UPS battery connector.
To install the optional EBM(s) for a UPS:
1.
Verify that all battery circuit breakers on all UPSs are in the OFF (O) position (see Figure 27).
2.
Plug the EBM cable(s) into the battery connector(s) as shown in Up to four EBMs may be connected to
the UPS.
3.
Parallel system only. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for each UPS with EBM(s).
See Figure 28 on page 41 and Figure 29 on page 42 for examples of EBM connections in a parallel
system.
NOTE
Each UPS in a parallel system must have the same number of EBMs.
