Communication Bus

The conga-IA3 supports both SMBus and I2C compliant devices.
5.4.1

SMBus

The SMBus signals are available in different locations on the conga-IA3, including the feature connector (X34) described in section 6.13 of this
document.
5.4.2
I²C Bus
The congatec Board controller provides I²C signals. These signals are available in different locations on the conga-IA3, including the feature
connector (X34) described in section 6.13 of this document.
5.4.3

SPI Bus

The SPI signals are connected to the onboard SPI flash and additionally to the feature connector (X34). The SPI signals on the feature connector
provides the ability to boot the conga-IA3 from external flash. This however requires a customized adapter for triggering the BIOS_DISABLE#
signal (pin 46) of the feature connector.
Note
The congatec customized adapter for the feature connector is currently for internal use only.
