Check the length of the rear shock absorber spring.
Standard spring adjustment (A):
- Rivale 800:
Check the functioning of the adjusters.
The shock absorber contains high-pressure
gas. Do not touch the valve of the shock
absorber tank. Do not try to disassemble the
shock absorber.

Adjusting the rear suspension

To evaluate the rear suspension calibration
do not in any way act on the tail. It would
surely be subject to damage.
To adjust the rear suspension, refer to the values given
in the following table.

Rebound damping
Compression damping
The adjustments given in the table must be made start-
ing from the relative initial reference positions. These
positions must be determined via the following proce-
dures:
- Rebound damping: turn clockwise until fully home
and then turn anti-clockwise to the standard position
(see table).
- Compression damping: turn clockwise until fully home
and then turn anti-clockwise to the standard position
(see table).
The adjustment operations can be per-

formed also with the rear shock absorber
mounted on the vehicle.
For further checks on the ball joints of the
rear shock absorber attachments it is nec-
essary to follow the disassembly phases
described in this chapter.
