REPLACEMENT OF THE ABS UNIT
(Present only on model Rivale ABS)
When replacing the ABS unit, it is necessary to
perform the operations described as follows.
• Remove the following components as described in
chapters C - "Superstructures" and G - "Frame":
- Saddle
- Fuel tank side panels
- Number carrier side panels
- Fuel tank
- Passenger footrests supports
- Battery
- Engine control unit
- Battery support
• Place a clean cloth under the ABS system pipes in
order to preserve the surrounding components from
brake fluid leaks during the following disassembling
operations.
Brake fluid has a strong corrosive power.
Be careful not to spill the fluid on surroun-
ding parts. If the fluid is spilt, clean immedia-
tely with industrial alcohol and dry with com-
pressed air.
• Remove the fixing screw of the electrical devices
support.
• Remove the support complete with solenoid starter
and fuse box by displacing it towards the rear side
of the motorcycle.
• Remove the four screws (1) fixing the brake pipes
to the ABS unit.
• Remove the brake pipes unions, being careful not
to spill brake fluid on the surrounding parts.
