4.17 Replacing the belt separa-
tion claw solenoid
A. Periodically replaced parts/cycle
• Developer: Every 1,500,000 copies
B. Procedure
1. Remove the transfer belt unit. (See "4.5 Remov-
ing and reinstalling the transfer belt unit.")
2. Remove the screw [1] and then remove the sole-
noid lever [2].
3. Remove the relay connector [3].
4. Remove the screw [4] and release the cable [6]
from the cable clamp [5].
5. Remove 2 screws [7] and then remove the SD1
(belt separation claw solenoid) [8].
6. Reinstall the above parts following the removal
steps in reverse.
Note:
• When having reinstalled the solenoid bar,
check to see if the shaft [9] of SD1 (belt sepa-
ration claw solenoid) moves smoothly while
sliding it.
