2. To view the Firmware inventory for more than one storage subsystem, click on the
Tools Firmware Inventory menu command from the Enterprise Management window.
Figure 14-35 shows the Firmware Inventory window. You can save the firmware inventory
to a text file by clicking the Save As button.
Note: If you want to save the Firmware Inventory for more than one storage subsystem,
you will need to select each of the storage subsystems in the dropdown box and then
click on Save As.

14.5.2 Updating the host

Before you update the firmware on your DS3500, the software on your hosts should also be
up to date. Go to the IBM Support Web site listed at the beginning of 14.5, "Download
firmware" on page 357 to check the levels of Storage Manager and HBA drivers. If there are
newer versions available, download them and check the readme files for any special
requirements for updating them.
Update the HBA driver and Storage Manager if necessary. Updating Storage Manager is
described in Chapter 5, "Installing IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager" on page 133.
Storage Manager for Windows also includes the associated multi path driver. The multipath
RDAC driver is a separate package for Linux. Other host operating systems provide their own
multipath drivers. The required multipath driver has to be updated on all attached hosts when
multiple HBAs are installed.
