14.after the setting these parameters, continue with the actual AIX installation as documented
in 21.5.4, "AIX Operating System Installation" on page 660.
21.5.3 AIX SAN installation with CD-ROM
For installing the AIX from a CD-ROM:
1. Insert disk 1 of the AIX installation CD set (this has a bootable image) into the CD-ROM.
2. For a new AIX system, select CD-ROM as the Install Device to make the system boot from
the CD using the System Management Services (SMS) menu.
3. Let the system boot from the AIX CD image after you have left the SMS menu.
4. Now continue with the actual AIX installation as documented in 21.5.4, "AIX Operating
System Installation" on page 660.
21.5.4 AIX Operating System Installation
After following the appropriate procedures either in 21.5.2, "AIX SAN installation with NIM" on
page 656or 21.5.3, "AIX SAN installation with CD-ROM" on page 660, continue with the AIX
operating system installation:
1. Press "1" and ENTER to use the current terminal as the system console as shown in
Example 21-29.

Type a 1 and press Enter to use this terminal as the
system console.
