Initialize - Array
Use the Initialize Array option when the Recovery Guru advises that you manually initialize
all of the logical drives in an array.
Attention: All data on all logical drives in the array will be destroyed. If the Recovery Guru
advises that you initialize an array, then you should contact your IBM Customer Support
representative before you start this procedure.
Keep these guidelines in mind before you initialize an array:
Use this option only under the guidance of your IBM Customer Support representative.
You cannot cancel the operation after it starts.
Do not use this option if the logical drives in the array do not have Optimal status and if any
modification operations are in progress on the logical drive or the array.
Do not change the cache parameters of the logical drive while the initialize operation is in
progress.
Perform these steps to initialize an array:
1. Select the array to be initialized in the Logical tab of the DS Storage Manager (Subsystem
Management) window.
2. Select the Advanced  Recovery  Initialize  Array menu command.
