SuSE Linux configuration guide
Chapter 20.
In this chapter, we discuss sample configurations to show how to configure SuSE Linux
Enterprise Server 11 to access a logical drive from the DS3500 storage subsystem. In the
SAS sample configuration, we are using a HS21 with two SAS adapters and two SAS
connectivity modules connected to a DS3500. For the iSCSI sample configuration we are
using an HS22 with ethernet software initiator HBA's and two ethernet switches connected to
DS3500. And for the FC sample configuration we are using an HS21 with two FC adapters,
two Brocade FC switches connected to a DS3500.
This chapter will include the following:
20.1, "DS3500 SAS storage configuration on SLES 11 using RDAC" on page 604
20.2, "DS3500 iSCSI storage configuration on SLES 11 using RDAC" on page 616
20.3, "DS3500 FC SAN boot configuration for SLES 11 server using RDAC" on page 627
20.4, "DS3500 FC storage configuration on SLES 11 using DMM" on page 635
Note: At the time of writing, iSCSI hardware initiators not supported with DS3500. Check
the SSIC website for future enhancements.
