EXP3500 Cabling
In this chapter we describe the best practise guidelines for the cabling of the DS3500 storage
subsystem and the EXP3500 expansion enclosure. We introduce the various connector ports
located on the rear of the DS3500 controller and the EXP3500 enclosure and then describe
the best practise guidelines for:
SAS expansion connections
Host-side connections (SAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel)
Ethernet management connections
Power cabling
We also describe best practises for cable management and describe the correct power-on/off
procedures for the IBM System Storage DS3500.
